“When places become so colourful, so popular, so full of people and so visually and literally loud, I sometimes prefer to go back to a blank canvas and start over again.”


An art performance specifically designed for the very colourful Old Town of Hoi An, Vietnam, a highly touristic place, also beautiful, filled with tailors, colors, flags, lamps, boats, people, loud music, etc.
 

When mass tourism becomes problematic, besides being polluting, that town shifts towards a total change in large-scale adaptation to the "needs" of tourists from all over the world. My experience as a visitor there also inspired me to create this performance, this two-layered suit, and walk around the Old Town asking for interaction with other tourists and people living there.
