The 'before' situation is always very interesting because we don't know what is going 'to be' or going 'to happen'. When I walked in the building and saw this specific corner pillar and the outside view I knew what was going to happen. This is one of my typical way of looking at "sites" and knowing what I have to do. The round pillar is not fitting in the space and the square beams and the outside chruch tower is demanding that (to me anyway). So, a transformation was needed.
